The Ecosystem Study Commission for International Rivers (ESCIR) was established in January 2008 as a non-governmental, non-profit academic research organization and technical platform focusing on sustainable hydropower development on international rivers and is affiliated to CSHE (China Society for Hydropower Engineering).
